Baseball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield fell victim to Hammond and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Springfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-18. As for Hammond, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-24 record.

Looking ahead, Springfield will take on Northlake Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hammond, they will head out on the road to face off against Fontainebleau at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
