Baseball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington had taken Heritage Hills down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Hatchets came up short against the Patriots, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hatchets have suffered against the Patriots since April 9, 2015.

This is the second loss in a row for Washington and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Heritage Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.

Looking ahead, Washington is taking a road trip to challenge North Posey at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hatchets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Heritage Hills, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Evansville Memorial at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
