Basketball Recap: Banner County Takes a Loss

Banner County played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Edgemont Moguls 47-18. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.

Despite the loss, Banner County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kyrie Roldan posted four points along with 16 rebounds and three steals. Those 16 boards set a new season-high mark for Roldan.

Edgemont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tavian Urban, who earned nine points and four steals. Urban is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Hollenbeck, who had nine points and six rebounds.

Banner County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Edgemont, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Banner County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hay Springs at 1:00 p.m. on January 4th. As for Edgemont, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 59-53 defeat against Philip on the 2nd.
