Softball Recap: Hanford West Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Hanford West put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Hanford Bullpups. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Rylan Montoya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Adyson Owens was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Janelle Ramirez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hanford West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanford only posted a batting average of .042.

Hanford West's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Hanford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Hanford West will be taking part in a tournament against Clovis West at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Hanford West 4, Clovis West 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hanford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chowchilla on Friday. Hanford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
