Softball Preview: Westside Wolverines vs. ED White Commanders
Westside is 2-8 against ED White since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wolverines will square off against the Commanders at 6:00 p.m. Westside will be strutting in after a win while ED White will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Westside turned things around against Englewood on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Rams. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolverines needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Alanis Torres was excellent, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Nyla Millikin was another key player, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with three runs and one double.
Meanwhile, ED White lost 17-9 to Raines last Tuesday. The Commanders haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
ED White's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westside, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-7.
