Baseball Recap: A-Tech Continues Home Dominance on Friday

A-Tech got themselves on the board against Grover Cleveland on Friday, but Grover Cleveland never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Presidents. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jovanny Frias made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Sergio Rosario was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. A-Tech is undefeated when Rosario posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ramon Floriman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

A-Tech's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Grover Cleveland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A-Tech will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bushwick at 4:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Grover Cleveland, they will challenge Transit Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
