Baseball Recap: Central Mountain Has No Trouble Against Shamokin Area

Central Mountain won the last time they faced Shamokin Area and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Indians. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jase Seltzer and Gavin Karstetter did most of the damage at the plate: Seltzer went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Karstetter went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Seltzer has posted since back in March. Hunter Hoy also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Central Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shamokin Area only posted a batting average of .095.

Central Mountain's record is now 15-1. As for Shamokin Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Central Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shamokin Area, they will challenge Shikellamy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
