Basketball Recap: Tremont Falls Despite Big Games from Cooper Platt and Andrew Curtis

Tremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 54-34 to the Colbert Heights Wildcats. The Eagles were probably out for revenge after losing 32-27 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Tremont had strong showings from Andrew Curtis, who posted 12 points, and Cooper Platt, who put up six points. Curtis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Tremont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Colbert Heights, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tremont will welcome Brilliant at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Brilliant has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Colbert Heights, they will be playing at home against Sheffield at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
