Volleyball Recap: Holmes Huskies vs. Stevens Falcons

Holmes lost against Stevens back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huskies came up short against the Falcons, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huskies have suffered since October 25, 2024.

While Holmes was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Stevens' winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13, 25-17.

Taylor Williams paced Holmes' offense, picking up four kills. Williams got some help from Mikayla Rangel and her four assists. Rangel also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Yvonne Poblano, racking up two apiece.

This is the second loss in a row for Holmes and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Stevens, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-4.

Holmes is on the road again on Thursday to play McMullen County at 8:00 a.m. As for Stevens, they will challenge Bandera at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
