The Rock Island Rocks will challenge the Kewanee Boilermakers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rock Island will be strutting in after a victory while Kewanee will be coming in after a loss.
Rock Island came out on top against Quincy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Rocks were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Blue Devils. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rocks.

Tinley James was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, AJ Lincoln was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 matchups. Jaylee James was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Rock Island always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quincy only posted an OBP of .273.
Meanwhile, Kewanee fell victim to Sterling and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Golden Warriors by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Boilermakers haven't been shut out since back in March.
Kalleigh Gale was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
Rock Island's win bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Kewanee, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rock Island hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Kewanee struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Rock Island's way against Kewanee in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Rock Island made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Rocks repeat their success, or do the Boilermakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
