Basketball Game Preview: Tustin Tillers vs. Costa Mesa Mustangs

The Tustin Tillers will take on the Costa Mesa Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

On Wednesday, Tustin didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fullerton, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win. Given the Tillers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Indians are ranked 480th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Costa Mesa hadn't done well against Ocean View recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Costa Mesa snuck past Ocean View with a 75-71 victory.

Tustin is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Costa Mesa, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-13.
