Basketball Recap: Lonewolf Havatone Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

There's no place like home for Music Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Grand Canyon Phantoms on Tuesday as the Music Mountain Warriors made off with a 75-54 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.

Music Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lonewolf Havatone, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyren Havatone, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Music Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Music Mountain pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Grand Canyon, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Music Mountain will take on BASIS Flagstaff in a holiday battle at at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. BASIS Flagstaff knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Music Mountain likes a good challenge. As for Grand Canyon, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on El Capitan at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
