Basketball Recap: Farmington Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

After losing to Franklin the last time they met, Farmington decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Farmington Falcons took down the Franklin Patriots 63-49 on Monday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Patriots are ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Owen Pittenger, who en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Pittenger is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Kameron Webster was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points over those games. Franklin's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-15.

Looking ahead, Farmington will take on North Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
