Football Recap: River View Panthers vs. Warden Cougars

It was a proper cat-fight when River View duked it out with Warden on Thursday. The Panthers fell 18-12 to the Cougars. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, River View still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Curtis, who rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. Curtis was even better on defense, making 20 total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. River View also got help from Clayton Taylor, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, River View's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Aiden Tyutyunnik was especially locked on to Warden's QB and sacked him twice.

River View now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Warden, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, River View will square off against Tri-Cities Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
