Volleyball Recap: Challenger Has No Trouble Against Christian Family Academy

Challenger won the last time they faced Christian Family Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Firebirds put the hurt on the Fire with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Challenger took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-9, 25-15.

Kate Hightower paced Challenger's offense, picking up nine kills. Hightower got some help from Addison Jones and her 16 assists. Jones was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Despite the loss, Christian Family Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyna Smith had four aces and two blocks.

Challenger's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Christian Family Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Challenger will challenge rival Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Christian Family Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
