Recap: Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers vs. Tri County Northeast Wolfpack
The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 63-39 margin over Tri County Northeast. Given Bancroft-Rosalie's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Tri County Northeast is ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bancroft-Rosalie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samryn Dick led the charge by scoring 21 points along with two steals. Dick is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kairece Morris, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Tri County Northeast's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mica Tornez, who scored four points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Briley Anderson, who scored three points.
Bancroft-Rosalie's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Tri County Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bancroft-Rosalie will take on Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Friday. Tri County Northeast is on the road again on Friday and plays Winnebago at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th.
