Mt. Vernon entered their tilt with Woodlawn on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Cardinals. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Cardinals last Saturday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Mt. Vernon didn't let Woodlawn take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 26-24.

The victory got Mt. Vernon back to even at 4-4. As for Woodlawn, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will be playing at home against Centralia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Rams' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Woodlawn, they are taking a road trip to square off against Nashville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
