Basketball Game Preview: Brookings Bobcats vs. Lincoln Patriots

Brookings is 2-8 against Lincoln since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Brookings Bobcats will head out to face off against the Lincoln Patriots at 7:00 p.m.

Brookings is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Washington 79-49. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Warriors are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, Lincoln got the win against Watertown on Tuesday by a conclusive 76-50. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Lincoln and bumps their season record up to 12-1. As for Brookings, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

Brookings couldn't quite finish off Lincoln when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 62-59. Can Brookings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
