Baseball Game Preview: St. Augustine Purple Knights vs. Warren Easton Fighting Eagles

St. Augustine is a perfect 4-0 against Warren Easton since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The St. Augustine Purple Knights will challenge the Warren Easton Fighting Eagles at 4:00 p.m. St. Augustine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

St. Augustine's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Warren Easton 10-0. The win continues a trend for the Purple Knights in their matchups with the Fighting Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Channing Cornelius Jr. was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Xander Brady looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
