Softball Game Preview: Clinton Red Devils vs. Whitmire Wolverines

Clinton has won three straight games at home, while Whitmire has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Red Devils will host the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. Clinton knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Whitmire likes a good challenge.

Whitmire's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Clinton hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Red Devils never let Eau Claire get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won 12 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of 15 wins, Whitmire's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against Lewisville, falling 13-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Wolverines haven't been shut out since back in March.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Whitmire, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.
