Volleyball Game Preview: Shawnee Mission South Raiders vs. Mill Valley Jaguars

Shawnee Mission South hasn't had much luck against Mill Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Raiders will host the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Shawnee Mission South is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Wednesday. They came out on top against Bonner Springs by a score of 2-0. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Shawnee Mission South was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-5.

Mill Valley not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 22, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Piper.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mill Valley took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-10, 25-14.

Shawnee Mission South couldn't quite get it done against Mill Valley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
