Softball Recap: Midway Green Wave vs. Harriman Blue Devils
Midway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 9-0 to the Harriman Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in March.
Midway saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Jarnigan, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Lorelai Langley also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Midway's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Harriman, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-8.
Looking ahead, Midway is taking a road trip to take on Greenback at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cherokees have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Harriman, they will host Wartburg Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
