Football Game Preview: Glen Cove Big Red vs. Jericho Jayhawks

The Glen Cove Big Red will head out to challenge the Jericho Jayhawks on Saturday. Glen Cove has given up an average of 37.2 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Glen Cove is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against East Meadow on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Big Red were dealt a 41-12 defeat at the hands of the Jets. While losing is never fun, the Big Red can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Jets are ranked 175th).

Meanwhile, Jericho came up short against Valley Stream Central last Saturday and fell 26-18.

Jericho has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Glen Cove, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Glen Cove against Jericho in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 34-6 victory. Do the Big Red have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jayhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
