It was a good run, but Lick-Wilmerding unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 73-53 to the Head-Royce Jayhawks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Jayhawks are ranked 423rd).

Lick-Wilmerding's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Head-Royce, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Lick-Wilmerding will host Burton on Thursday. As for Head-Royce, they will venture away from home to take on Archbishop Mitty at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Mitty knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Head-Royce likes a good challenge.
