Baseball Recap: Everett Vikings vs. Central Bearcats
Everett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Central Bearcats, falling 9-3. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Nolan Prevo was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Prevo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emmett Leidi, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jesus G-Torres also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Everett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everett will venture away from home to take on Eastern at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Quakers at the right time seeing as the Quakers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Central, they will take on Sturgis at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
