Basketball Game Preview: North Ridgeville Rangers vs. Avon Eagles

North Ridgeville and Avon are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The North Ridgeville Rangers are taking a road trip to face off against the Avon Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

North Ridgeville is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Wednesday. They took a blow against Olmsted Falls, falling 61-32. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, Avon didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Elyria on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win.

North Ridgeville's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Avon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

North Ridgeville couldn't quite finish off Avon in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 44-42. Can North Ridgeville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
