Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Glencoe's Third in Last Four Outings

Glencoe won the last time they faced Aloha and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Crimson Tide came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 5-1.

Lexi Brester was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tuesday Mevis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season. Irene Vandyke was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Glencoe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Aloha fell to 4-1.

Coming up, Glencoe will be playing at home against Oregon City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aloha, they will take on West Linn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2.8, the Lions 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
