Recap: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves

The Buckingham Charter Knights lost against the Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Buckingham Charter was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to Western Sierra Collegiate Academy. While losing is never fun, Buckingham Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1113th, while Western Sierra Collegiate Academy is ranked 532nd).

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy found their leader in underclassman John Harb, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Vovc, who scored nine points.

Buckingham Charter has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.

Buckingham Charter will head out on the road to square off against Sacramento Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Buckingham Charter is facing Sacramento Country Day at the right time seeing as Sacramento Country Day is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy is on a 14-game streak of home wins, Valley Christian a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
