Basketball Recap: Ragsdale Comes Up Short

Ragsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They had to suffer through an 85-37 loss at the hands of the Northwest Guilford Vikings. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-19.

Ragsdale lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jahveer Branch, who posted five points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josiah Beatty, who earned ten points and five boards.

Ragsdale's record is now 1-21. As for Northwest Guilford, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ragsdale will head out to take on Western Guilford at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Ragsdale is facing Western Guilford at the right time seeing as Western Guilford is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Northwest Guilford, they will venture away from home to challenge Southwest Guilford at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Guilford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 games -- so hopefully Northwest Guilford likes a good challenge.
