Baseball Recap: Waynesboro's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Waynesboro won the last time they faced Buffalo Gap and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Little Giants came out on top against the Bison by a score of 7-2. The win was nothing new for the Little Giants as they're now sitting on four straight.

Conner Schoonover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Zach Rankin was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haden Morris, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Waynesboro pushed their record up to 10-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Buffalo Gap, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13.

Looking ahead, Waynesboro will square off against Fort Defiance at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Little Giants surely won't give up without a fight. Buffalo Gap does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
