Softball Game Preview: Hesperia Scorpions vs. Apple Valley Sun Devils

Hesperia is 1-9 against Apple Valley since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Scorpions will head out to face off against the Sun Devils at 3:15 p.m. Neither Hesperia nor Apple Valley posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Hesperia is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 15-2 to Burroughs.

Hesperia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla Mata, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Apple Valley came up short against Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday, falling 9-1.

Brooke Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run.

Apple Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7-1. As for Hesperia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16-1.

Hesperia might still be hurting after the 22-3 defeat they got from Apple Valley in their previous matchup on April 8th. Can the Scorpions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
