Softball Recap: Delran Drops Highest Score of Season Against Maple Shade

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delran). They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Maple Shade Wildcats on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Mary Masterson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Elaina Faux was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Martinez, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI.

Delran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maple Shade only posted an OBP of .077.

Delran's record now sits at 7-3. As for Maple Shade, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Delran is taking a road trip to take on Rancocas Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maple Shade, they will host Doane Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
