Softball Recap: Santiam Has No Trouble Against East Linn Christian Academy

While Santiam put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for East Linn Christian Academy. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won four contests by 14 runs or more so far this season.

Boston Flores was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brooke Massey was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Lindsey Briley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Santiam pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for East Linn Christian Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Santiam will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
