Volleyball Recap: Northeast Guilford Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Northeast Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Asheboro Blue Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Northeast Guilford took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-9, 25-13.

Asheboro can attribute much of their success to Eva Vuncannon, who had 14 aces and 11 assists. Those 14 aces gave Vuncannon a new career-high.

Northeast Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Asheboro, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Northeast Guilford is set to take on their familiar foe Eastern Guilford at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Asheboro will face off against rival Southern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
