Baseball Game Preview: Geneva Panthers vs. Midlakes Screaming Eagles

Geneva is 8-2 against Midlakes since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will face off against the Screaming Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Geneva is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Geneva couldn't beat Newark on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Panthers fell just short of the Reds by a score of 9-8.

Alex Dorrington was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Javon Johnson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Midlakes wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Midlakes' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-6. As for Geneva, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Geneva skirted past Midlakes 4-3 when the teams last played on Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
