Basketball Game Preview: Palisades Pumas vs. Butler Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Jayen Reeves and Terrance Badio are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Palisades Pumas and the Butler Bulldogs will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Palisades is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.

Palisades saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 51-41 to Dreher. The game marked the Pumas' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Palisades' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aurek Fenn, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 rebounds, and Reeves, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance also gave Fenn a new career-high in blocks (three).

Meanwhile, Butler didn't have quite enough to beat Nation Ford on Saturday and fell 52-49.

Palisades will have to contain Caleb Milligan as he made an impact in Butler's last game. He went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah White, who posted five points and five steals.

Butler's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Palisades, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Palisades has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Butler struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29 rebounds.
