Volleyball Recap: Boyd-Buchanan Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Boyd-Buchanan and Concord Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Boyd-Buchanan had to settle for second. They came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Boyd-Buchanan was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Concord Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katelyn Stooksbury, who had 20 digs and two aces. Stooksbury has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played. Manhattan Shuler was another key player, getting five aces and four digs.

Boyd-Buchanan's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Concord Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Boyd-Buchanan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Concord Christian, they will square off against Silverdale Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
