Softball Game Preview: Haddon Heights Garnets vs. Haddon Township Hawks

The Haddon Heights Garnets will venture away from home to square off against the Haddon Township Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Haddon Heights got the win against Gloucester County Tech by a conclusive 10-3.

Meanwhile, Haddon Township narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Collingswood 5-4. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jordan Strauss was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Strauss was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Strauss wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Kozarski, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Haddon Heights back to even at 1-1. As for Haddon Township, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-1-1.

Haddon Heights skirted past Haddon Township 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Garnets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
