Basketball Recap: Hopkinsville Takes a Loss

After flying high against University Heights last Thursday, Hopkinsville came back down to earth. The Hopkinsville Tigers took a 72-58 bruising from the Evansville Harrison Warriors on Friday.

Evansville Harrison's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shane Sims, who went 6 for 14 en route to 20 points and four steals. That's the most steals Sims has posted since back in December of 2023. Jay Summitt was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Hopkinsville's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Evansville Harrison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Hopkinsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 73-49 defeat against Castle on the 18th. Evansville Harrison has also already played their next contest, a 68-32 win against Springfield Southeast on the 18th.
