Basketball Game Preview: Oakley Plainsmen vs. Trego Golden Eagles

The Oakley Plainsmen will venture away from home to take on the Trego Golden Eagles at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. Oakley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Oakley lost to Norton at home by a 63-44 margin. The Plainsmen haven't had much luck with the Bluejays recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

The losing side was boosted by Mason Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Oakley's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Fink, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Trego's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Phillipsburg.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-3. As for Oakley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Oakley lost to Trego on the road by a decisive 54-37 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Oakley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
