Basketball Recap: John Mcgowin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mooseheart over Crossroads Christian

Mooseheart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Crossroads Christian CRU, falling 82-62. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Ramblers of the 59-55 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Mooseheart's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John McGowin, who posted 18 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. McGowin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nishi Amos was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Even though they lost, Mooseheart smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Mooseheart's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Crossroads Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Mooseheart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-37 win against Trinity Oaks Christian Academy on the 18th. Crossroads Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
