Baseball Preview: Basha Bears vs. Desert Ridge Jaguars

The Basha Bears will challenge the Desert Ridge Jaguars at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

While Bears fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's season opener. Everything went their way against Mountain View on Wednesday as Basha made off with a 7-1 win.

Zach Bolles tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Basha's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chase Chanley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Chanley has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Desert Ridge posted their biggest win since April 8, 2024 on Thursday. They blew past Crismon 12-2.

Kelton Floan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Floan was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
