Prairie Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westview Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-14 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Prairie Heights still got an impressive performance from Emily McCrea, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. McCrea has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Maddison Certain was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Westview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Karis Weinberg out in front who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janissa Lehman, who earned seven points and three steals.

Prairie Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Westview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Prairie Heights wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-36 win against Garrett on the 16th. As for Westview, they will head out on the road to challenge Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
