Basketball Recap: Carnegie Piles Up the Points Against Alex

Carnegie entered their tilt with Alex on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Alex Longhorns, posting a 59-30 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2015.

Duane Cavaness was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 13 on his way to 18 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Uzziah Ahhaitty, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Carnegie now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Alex, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Carnegie Wildcats take on the Binger-Oney Bobcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Binger-Oney will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Carnegie surely won't give up without a fight. As for Alex, they will square off against Chattanooga at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
