Softball Game Preview: Weatherford Christian Lions vs. Fellowship Academy Mustangs

The Weatherford Christian Lions will take on the Fellowship Academy Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Weatherford Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Fellowship Academy by a score of 7-3. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Fellowship Academy's part, Khylee Webber was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Webber has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Taitym Rankin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Weatherford Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Fellowship Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
