Basketball Game Preview: Pine Crest Panthers vs. Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs

Pine Crest is 2-8 against Cardinal Gibbons since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Both will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Pine Crest sitting on six straight victories and Cardinal Gibbons on seven.

Pine Crest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They strolled past North Miami Beach with points to spare, taking the game 38-23.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons didn't have too much trouble with NSU University on Thursday as they won 58-39.

Pine Crest is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Pine Crest might still be hurting after the 76-53 defeat they got from Cardinal Gibbons in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Pine Crest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
