Football Recap: Dover Senators vs. Smyrna Eagles
Dover had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Smyrna Eagles and fell 46-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Senators of the 28-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
As for Smyrna, they now have a winning record of 5-4. Winning may never get old, but they sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Drew Marks had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 242 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. He has become a key player for Smyrna: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Kahmaj Kearney was Marks' top target, picking up 24 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 55 yards on only six carries.
