Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Clovis West

While Clovis West's win against Clovis East wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Eagles had just enough and edged out the Timberwolves 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Golden Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Alex Waer made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Louis Sanchez looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Marcus Jackson was excellent, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Clovis West now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Clovis East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Clovis West will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clovis East: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
