Baseball Recap: Crimson Cliffs Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Dixie

Crimson Cliffs faced Dixie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 6-5. The Mustangs have struggled against the Flyers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Crimson Cliffs got a good showing from MASON ANDERSON, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. ANDERSON has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, JACKSON WITTWER was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. BRECKEN PARK also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Crimson Cliffs' defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Dixie, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-9.
