Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. College Park Falcons

The Northgate Broncos will head out to take on the College Park Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northgate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.2 points per game this season.

Northgate is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since January 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 60-40 to Acalanes. The match marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The losing side was boosted by Deangelo Smith, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Boustead, who posted six points and four steals.

Meanwhile, College Park entered their tilt with Berean Christian on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 64-44 win. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

College Park's win came from a few key players Northgate will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Steven Barnett, who earned 20 points. Miles Cooper was another key player, putting up 17 points.

With the defeat, Northgate broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5. As for College Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Northgate hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66.2 points per game. However, it's not like College Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Northgate strolled past College Park when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 69-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northgate since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
